Nutritional Myths and Facts with Dr. Shipra Bansal

Shipra Bansal, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and the Director of Osteopathic and Lifestyle Medicine at A.T. Still University – School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona (ATSU-SOMA). In this capacity she is leading the implementation of a fully integrated lifestyle medicine curriculum at the university.

She is a family physician who specializes in providing care to underserved populations. She has a special interest in making healthy lifestyles, particularly nutrition, accessible to underserved populations.

In this capacity, Dr. Bansal has been working with patients on whole-food plant-based eating patterns since 2014 and now conducts group visits in nutrition designed to help patients stabilize or reverse disease.

Specific other accomplishments include pioneering and leading HealthPartners, a collaborative educational effort between the local university and community clinic to decrease disparate health outcomes, based on social determinants of health.

Dr. Bansal completed her training at Harbor-UCLA in 2008. She is dual boarded in Family Medicine as well as Lifestyle Medicine.
