Hi! In this video I’m sharing with you my recipe for apple and cinnamon porridge. To keep this recipe dairy-free and gluten-free, I use a dairy-free milk and certified gluten-free porridge oats.
I love porridge as a breakfast, especially as the weather gets colder. I like to top this porridge with some hemp seeds and a drizzle of almond butter though you could use any seeds or nut/seed butter you prefer.

*Apple & Cinnamon Porridge*
1 apple, (any variety you prefer, though not a cooking apple!)
150ml dairy-free milk
40g gluten-free porridge oats
dash of vanilla extract, approximately 1/8 tsp.
1/4tsp. – 1/2tsp. ground cinnamon
pinch of salt
How to make
Slice 1/4 of the apple off and either slice or dice it, set it aside to use as the topping.
Grate the remainder of the apple.
In a small pan, over a low-medium heat, add the milk, porridge oats, grated apple, vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp cinnamon (or add up to 1/2 teaspoon if you prefer) and a pinch of salt.
Gently stir together to combine and cook, stirring often, until the liquid has been absorbed and the porridge is beginning to thicken – the porridge will continue to thicken once served.
Pour into a bowl and top with the reserved apple and any other toppings you prefer.
